It is the classic football tic tac toe (also called tiki taka toe or footy tic tac toe) with the computer as your opponent. Every square sits where a club and a nationality meet: name a player who played for that club and has that nationality, and the square is yours.
The AI follows the same rules. On easy it picks squares almost at random and often draws a blank. On medium it takes winning squares and blocks yours. On hard it plays perfect tic tac toe and grabs the squares with the fewest possible answers, leaving you the difficult ones. You and the AI take turns starting each new grid.
How to play
Pick a level
Choose easy, medium or hard. Your record and best win streak are kept for each level.
Choose a square
Each square is a club (row) and a country (column). Pick the one you know best.
Name a player
Type a player who played for that club and has that nationality. A wrong answer skips your turn.
Get three in a row
Block the AI and complete a row, column or diagonal of your squares to win.

Can I play football tic tac toe on my own?▼
Yes. Choose a difficulty and the computer plays the other side, so you can play football tic tac toe solo, any time, with no sign-up.
How good is the hard AI?▼
On hard the AI never misses a winning square, always blocks yours and takes the squares with the fewest valid players. It still occasionally fails to name a player, so it can be beaten.
Does the AI cheat?▼
No. It can only use players who genuinely fit the square, it never reuses a player already on the board, and a miss skips its turn just like yours.
What happens if I give a wrong answer?▼
Your turn is skipped and the AI moves, exactly as in two-player football tic tac toe. Each player can only be used once per grid.
Who starts each game?▼
You start the first grid, then you and the AI take turns going first.
